Setting Up your modem on MacOS 8 or 9

Step 1:

Click on the Apple Menu and select Control Panels and then Remote Access - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 2:

Select Registered User, in the Name field enter your MoonStar username, in the Password field enter your MoonStar password, check Save password, in the Number field enter 392-7670, then click the Options button - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 3:

The Redial field can be left set as Off however if you want the computer to automatically try to reconnect if it fails on the first attempt select Redial main number only then the other fields can be set to your own preference. Click on the Connection tab - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 4:

Leave Use verbose logging and Launch status application when connecting unchecked. The settings under Reminders can be set to your own preference. Click on the Protocol tab - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 5:

Check Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications if you want the computer to bring up the dial up connection automatically whenever you start a program that uses the Internet or select an option within a program that uses the Internet. Check Allow error correction and compression in modem and Use TCP header compression and leave Connect to a command-line host unchecked. Click OK and then click the box in the top right hand corner of the previous window. You will be asked if you want to save the changes, select Save - Select this link to see a screen shot
